The cleaning industry is a dirty business, but getting the job done without harming yourself or the environment is difficult with the current availability of products which are mostly either highly toxic or plant-based (which just don’t work). While working on board yachts, crew can occasionally find themselves in a bind, balancing multiple duties and tasks. When it came to cleaning products, former crewmember Leah Tennant found that the ones that got the job done were toxic, but the only other choice was to use plant-based products that didn’t work.

After 5 years in the industry with her last position as a deck hand, Leah created Washdown to solve this problem and came up with a solution which has a Probiotic Bio-tech formula that is pollutant free, harmless to aquatic life, VOC free and vegan.

Why pay for and store multiple larger bottles when you can simply add water to the Washdown products yourself?

The solutions all come in a concentrated formula with a special top which measures out the correct amount of formula to be mixed with water, giving you the perfect mix to clean.

A Washdown 1ltr BioFlask has a built-in anti spill system which is self-measuring and generates 100, 750ml spray bottles. The long lasting, reusable spray bottles are made from 100% Prevented Ocean Plastic and the concentrated formula saves 100 bottles from going into the ocean.

Did you know that water makes up 90% of the volume inside a standard ready to use cleaning agent? This creates the illusion of value, but at the expense of waste.

The solutions are cost effective and reduce the waste and plastic use whilst still cleaning as well as other highly toxic versions.

How does it work?

World Class Biotechnology – the concentrated formula is made up of millions of little enzymes which are activated when cold water is added. These are hard on germs and dirt but also kind on surfaces as it clean, it leaves a biofilm that keeps on cleaning.

Most of the washdown products are also PH neutral so they can be used on all paint types and are non-damaging to other delicate surfaces in the interior, such as marble.

Grease Lightning (Food Safe Degreaser) - It loves grease, fat and oils that are associated with the Galley and all food preparation areas.

Purified - A natural lactic disinfectant, that cleans and removes any nasty germs leaving your hard surfaces purified.

Bad Buoy (Black Marks) 5ltr - Our hybrid formula gets a kick out of tough stains and ‘unmovable marks’ eradicating them from the surface.

Body Wash 5ltr - A Nourishing PH Neutral boat soap, removes salt and grime with ease.
